KANDO 85: Hull #2 Brings New Design Upgrades, Hull #1 Heads to Cannes

Smart Yachts is pleased to share two pieces of news on the KANDO 85 explorer yacht: Hull #1 will be on display at the Cannes Yachting Festival as a World Premiere, and Hull #2 is available for sale with several meaningful design upgrades over her sistership.

Hull #1 Goes to Cannes

Hull #1 of the KANDO 85, successfully sold by Smart Yachts, will be presented at the Cannes Yachting Festival (8–13 September 2026). For anyone curious about what a full-displacement steel explorer actually feels like on deck, this is the chance to see her in person — walk the aft deck, step into the full-beam master suite, and get a real sense of scale before deciding whether an explorer yacht is the right fit.

Hull #2: What's New

Hull #2, scheduled for delivery in 2028, isn't simply a repeat of the first boat. AvA Yachts and the design team have refined the layout based on feedback from Hull #1, and the changes are immediately visible on the exterior:

- Jacuzzi moved to the aft deck — freeing up the upper deck and giving the jacuzzi a more sheltered, social spot near the swim platform

- Extended flybridge, pushed forward — more usable space up top for lounging, dining, and entertaining
- Hard top added over the flybridge — extra coverage and shade for the space above

Together these changes give Hull #2 a noticeably more elegant and dynamic profile, without touching what makes KANDO 85 fundamentally sound as a long-range cruiser.

Built for the Horizon

KANDO 85 is a 25.9-metre full-displacement explorer built by AvA Yachts in Turkey — a steel hull paired with an aluminium superstructure, designed for genuine long-range cruising rather than short coastal hops. Twin Volvo Penta engines give her a 9-knot cruising speed, a 12-knot top speed, and a range of 5,000 nautical miles at cruising speed. The hull is built with 8–10mm steel plating and multiple watertight bulkheads, and she carries CE Category A certification.

Inside, the yacht offers 200 GT of volume across four decks. The main deck forward master suite spans the full beam, with panoramic windows, a desk, and a private bathroom — a rare feature at this size. The salon combines lounge and dining areas, with an enclosed galley accessible from the port side and a day head to starboard.

Below, the lower deck holds two crew cabins, a crew mess/galley, and a head, keeping crew operations separate from guest areas. The main accommodation deck adds a full-beam VIP cabin, a double cabin to starboard, and a convertible twin cabin to port — four staterooms in total, sized generously enough that nothing feels compromised.

The upper deck centers on a centerline helm station in the wheelhouse, with built-in seating to either side and a day head aft. Outside, guests get a three-stool bar, the relocated jacuzzi, and a large sunbathing area, plus foredeck space for tender storage. On the extended flybridge, there's now room for a grill and bar station alongside expanded sunbathing and seating — the space that benefits most from Hull #2's layout changes.
