1. About this policy
This cookie policy explains how Smart Yachts SARL ("we", "us", "our") uses cookies and similar technologies on www.smartyachts.com (the "Site"). For how we process personal data more generally, see our Privacy policy. Legal information about the Site is available in our Legal notice.
We comply with Monaco Law n° 1.565 of 3 December 2024 and, where applicable, the EU GDPR.
2. What we do and do not use
This Site uses two measurement tools and nothing else. Vercel Web Analytics is cookieless and runs on every visit (section 4). Google Analytics 4 sets cookies and runs only if you allow "Analytics" in the cookie banner (section 4). We use no tag manager, no advertising tags and no social media pixels. No page of this Site shows advertising.
The banner offers two categories, Analytics and Marketing. Marketing covers embedded third-party content, such as the map on our office page, which may set its own cookies when it loads (section 5). Essential technical storage (section 3) is always on because the Site does not work without it.
3. Essential technical storage
The Site stores a small amount of data in your browser's local storage, on your own device:
- Your choice on the cookie banner, so we do not show it to you again.
- Your saved yachts and comparison selections, so they are still there when you return.
This information stays in your browser. It is never transmitted to us, and we keep no record of it on our side. It remains on your device until you clear it (see section 6).
4. Audience measurement
Vercel Web Analytics. We use it to count visits and see which pages are read. It is a cookieless measurement tool: it sets no cookie, writes nothing to your device, does not follow you across other websites, and does not build a profile of you. It records the page visited, the referring page, and coarse information such as country, browser and device type. It does not store your IP address. Because it uses no cookie and no similar device storage, it does not rely on your consent under the cookie rules. If you would still rather not be counted, any standard tracker blocker will stop it, and the Site works exactly the same without it.
Google Analytics 4. If you allow "Analytics" in the banner, we also load Google Analytics 4, provided by Google Ireland Limited. It sets the cookies _ga and _ga_* on your device for up to 13 months, to tell returning visits apart and to measure which pages are read and how visitors move through the Site. IP addresses are truncated before storage. Google processes this data on our behalf under its data processing terms; some processing takes place in the United States under the EU-US Data Privacy Framework and Google's standard contractual clauses. Nothing from Google loads until you allow it, and you can withdraw your choice at any time from "Cookie settings" in the footer: from that moment no cookie is read or written, and collection stops from your next page view.
5. Embedded third-party content
Our Monaco office page includes an embedded Google Maps view showing the location of our office. This embed loads from Google, and when it loads Google may set its own cookies or collect data under its own privacy policy, which we do not control. You can read Google's privacy policy at policies.google.com/privacy.
No other page of the Site embeds third-party content that sets cookies.
6. Your choices
The banner shown on your first visit lets you accept all, reject all, or choose "Manage" and switch Analytics and Marketing on or off separately. Your choice is stored in your browser's local storage, on your own device, and is never sent to us. To change it later, click "Cookie settings" in the footer of any page.
You can also clear the choice, and any cookies, in your browser's settings. Clearing the choice shows the banner again on your next visit. Refusing every category does not limit the Site in any way.
7. Retention
The technical storage described in section 3 lives only in your browser and persists until you delete it. Any cookies set by Google through the embedded map are governed by Google's own retention periods.
If you allow "Analytics", the Google Analytics cookies _ga and _ga_* are set for 13 months from your last visit. Refusing or withdrawing consent stops them being written; you can delete them at any time in your browser.
8. Changes to this policy
We update this policy whenever what the Site uses changes. Any new cookie or similar technology that requires consent is described here first, and the banner asks for your consent before it is set. The date at the top of this page shows the current version.
