We are incredibly proud to announce the successful launch of Hull #1 of the AvA Yachts' Kando 85, sold by Smart Yachts — a truly emotional milestone for our entire team. Seeing her touch the water for the first time is a moment we will never forget. Fitted with a steel hull and aluminum superstructure, this magnificent 25.9m explorer is built to roam the world's most remote waters with exceptional range and autonomy. We wish the lucky owner fair winds, calm seas, and countless unforgettable adventures aboard her!

Hull #2 of the Kando 85 is available now, with delivery scheduled for the second quarter of 2027. It's a reasonable moment to buy in — the design is proven, the first hull is in the water, and you're not being asked to take a leap of faith on something untested. For buyers in the market for a serious long-range yacht under 30 metres, there aren't many platforms that offer this kind of build quality at this size.

Kando 85 is built the way proper expedition yachts should be: steel below the waterline, aluminium above it. It's not a glamorous combination to talk about at a boat show, but it's the right one if you're serious about going places that aren't on the charter circuit. The underwater plating runs between 8 and 10mm thick, and there are multiple watertight bulkheads throughout the hull. Whether you'll ever need them is another question, but you'll be glad they're there if you do.

Below decks, four staterooms handle up to eight guests without anyone feeling like they drew the short straw. The master cabin is located fore of the main deck and spans the entire beam; this cabin has panes of windows, a desk, and a bathroom.

The VIP cabin below is also full beam, and the remaining two guest cabins can be configured to suit whoever's aboard. Two crew cabins and a dedicated mess keep the working side of the boat separate from the guest experience, which matters on longer passages.

On deck, the aft area is set up for time at anchor — swimming platform, built-in seating, a dining table. The flybridge has a grill and bar, a sunbathing area, and enough room that people aren't constantly in each other's way. There's a Jacuzzi on the foredeck, which sounds like an optional extra until you've spent a week at sea and suddenly it doesn't.

The twin engines from Volvo Penta push her up to 12 knots of maximum speed and she cruises comfortably at 9 knots, with a range of 5,000 miles. The range is important. It means that Atlantic becomes an achievable goal for you. It means that you plan your voyage according to your destination rather than to the nearest fuel dock.

Secure the second Kando 85 while she is still available, with delivery scheduled for Q2 2027!
