Turkey charters along two seas. The Aegean coast runs south from the Bodrum peninsula past the Gulf of Gökova to Marmaris, and the Mediterranean shore beyond it, known as the Turquoise Coast, takes in the pine covered islands of Göcek, the bay of Fethiye and the old harbour of Antalya. Traditional wooden gulets still sail beside modern motor yachts, and Lycian and ancient Greek ruins stand within reach of many anchorages. Further north, the islands of the Sea of Marmara lie close to Istanbul.
