A Contrasting Vacation Across Oceania

The destination

Sea voyages to the islands of Oceania will give you a lot of vivid impressions and charm you with their nature. Taking a cruise in the Pacific Ocean, you will visit the most picturesque coral islands, swim in the azure ocean and learn many interesting facts about the local cities. A yacht trip will open the doors to the incredible world of flora and fauna: watch exotic animals and plants, go fishing, diving and swim among dolphins and coral gardens. Fiji, Tahiti, New Caledonia and New Zealand are the main regions for yacht cruises here, and each one gives a charter a different character, from reef and lagoon to volcanoes, forest and city.

Water sports and things to do

Water sports and things to do

Oceania abounds in various types of water activities: water skiing, surfing, windsurfing, diving, snorkelling, excursions on boats with a glass bottom, and more. Tahiti adds sport fishing in the sea, exciting surfing and diving with sharks and dolphins. In New Caledonia the Loyalty Islands are the choice for diving and fishing, while Neuville is known as a windsurfing paradise. In Fiji, a day on the water can just as easily be built around cruises with dolphins.

Islands, culture and local life

Islands, culture and local life

Fiji alone includes over 300 islands, and a special colourful mixture of Melanesian cultures is ideally combined there with European luxury. The country offers sightseeing of colonial Levuka and a trip to settlements located right in the crater of a volcano. In New Caledonia, guests who want to learn more about local traditions and look at island life from a different angle are pointed towards Hienghene. New Zealand supplies the other side of the region, with multinational cities set close to national parks and active volcanoes.

New Zealand and the North Island

New Zealand and the North Island

New Zealand is a country with unique natural features: a long coastline, panoramic views of emerald green hills and stunning islands. On a trip across the Pacific you can combine boat trips with sightseeing on land. One of the most picturesque places is the North Island, famous for its active volcanoes, national parks and multinational cities, and home to Auckland, the largest city in the country, surrounded by bays and islands. It has earned the title City of Sails thanks to the numerous yachts and sailboats there. The North Island is an island of contrasts, where snow capped mountain peaks sit side by side with delightful sandy beaches, so you can go skiing and then relax on a white beach, enjoying the warm sea breeze.

Lagoons, caves and mountains

Lagoons, caves and mountains

New Caledonia is the outdoor heart of the region. Enclosed picturesque lagoons, fantastic limestone caves, majestic mountains and waterfalls put beautiful views at every turn, which makes it a natural fit for guests who want to be off the yacht as much as on it. Between the diving of the Loyalty Islands, the breeze at Neuville and the traditions of Hienghene, a single archipelago can carry an entire itinerary.

When to go?

Oceania runs two seasons rather than one. Fiji, New Caledonia and French Polynesia are at their fullest from June to September, when the trade winds are settled and the cyclone season is months away, and if you want July or August you should be talking to us six to nine months out, because the crewed fleet out there is small and commits early. From November the tropics empty as the boats move south, so December to February belongs to New Zealand, where Christmas, New Year and the January regattas take the Bay of Islands first. May and October are the value weeks in the tropics, settled enough to cruise properly and far less contested.
