Short review: Galeon 470 SKY - amazing yacht!

When we look from the side, we see the ideal fast-moving silhouette, peculiar only to sports yachts with a hardtop. At the same time, it is possible to operate the yacht literally from the roof, where not only the second control post is located, but also a small low flybridge or as the name suggests- skydeck. When you do not use it, the entire skydeck is closed by a movable roof, almost like in a cabriolet. Later in the review, we will tell you how to do it.



The model also has the brand name GALEON YACHTS feature , these are the folding balconies, which increase the beam of the yacht and connect cockpit and salon areas, forming a cozy bar and a huge amount of extra space. In a compartment with a hydraulic bathing platform, all this is forming a "beach club".

It is worth separately mentioning the zone on the nose, because these are not just pillows for tanning. It has a full dining area with a table, chairs and backs, and the necessary number of lockers, so that it would be convenient to store all this. 

The lower deck has 3 cabins and 2 bathrooms. The VIP cabin is in the bow of the yacht, the side cabin is pulman, and the owner’s cabin is midship fulllength full-length and with large windows.

The yacht test results showed that the maximum speed is 29.9 knots, and it can be developed in 17.8 seconds. The boat showed the best cruise speed at 22 knots. The boat starts gliding at 12 knots. The deep V-shaped hull and sea contours allow you to easily pass along the wave, and at the same time the yacht is perfectly navigable. Skydeck

Let's start our detailed review of the GALEON 470 SKY with a skydeck. Under the convertible roof there is an additional control post, with all systems. Navigation, radio set, throttle reverse knobs and a display with VOLVO PENTA information.



In addition to the control post, there is still enough space for sunbathing or company on a skydeck. In order to close the roof, the control post lowers with the panel, and the backs of the seats are folded in special lockers.





The roof is electric and closes with a button, completely changing the exterior of the yacht.

Bow deck

At the bow of the yacht there is a dining area with a table. The important thing is that all the pillows, backs and even the table are put into lockers right on the nose, and you do not need to carry them anywhere. Simple and convenient.

Cockpit

The spacious cockpit can be combined with the saloon. By opening the sides to increase the beam and making a beach club. Side windows are shifted from two sides, and bar chairs can be put in the galley area.

     

A large table with very powerful legs can be adjusted in height, or make a sunbathing area.



On the floor in the cockpit there is a hatch that provides access to the engine room.

The hydraulic bathing platform at the stern, where the tender can be put, has a load capacity of 400 kg and a width of 1.12 meters. There is a shower and a place for the grill at the stern.

Saloon

Glass doors open are fully openable , which creates a single space with a cockpit. In the galley on the port side there is a sink, two-burner stove and microwave. Enough space for cooking. A refrigerator and freezer are located under the counter. In the middle of the cabin there is a U-shaped area with a table, which should accommodate at least 6 people. The table can also be lowered, transforming into a bed. Opposite there is a 42-inch TV set.

Above the control post there is a large sliding sunroof that can fill the cabin with fresh sea air.

Cabins

A spacious master cabin is located in the middle of the yacht for its entire width. The ceiling height is 1.83 meters, and large windows fill it with natural light. On the port side there is a comfortable dressing table. Also in the master cabin there is a 32 inch TV.

     

The master cabin has its own toilet with a washbasin and a separate shower.



VIP cabin in the bow is also spacious and has a common shower - toilet with another guest cabin, which is located on the starboard side. But it has its own door, for access directly from the cabin.



Another guest cabin is located on the starboard side and has two 195 cm long beds, one above the other.

Conclusion

GALEON 470 SKY is a great yacht for those who prefer sporty contours, but at the same time, sometimes would like to enjoy the breeze on the upper deck. Who travels with a family, or a small company. For those who love outdoor activities on the water.
