GALEON PRESS DAYS - WARM WELCOME AT THE SHIPYARD
From the 26 to the 28 of July in the coastal Polish city of Sopot GALEON YACHTS for the first time in history opened their doors to the international press. Journalists and dealers from all over the world came to see the newest models and the most innovative technologies. There were famous yachting magazines’ journalists from Germany, France, the USA, the Great Britain, Greece, Finland, Russia, South Korea, China, etc.
On the first day the guests had a chance to perform sea trials of the shipyard`s bestsellers, the famous and beloved by customers yachts with so called “Beach Mode” (i.e. folding balconies): Galeon 500 FLY and her smaller version - Galeon 460 FLY. Attention was drawn to the modern and sophisticated interior designs and comfortable layouts. It is no longer a problem to please both: a noisy company for a party on the water and a big family with children. In addition, those who did not have such chance in Düsseldorf or Miami could now go onboard for the first time and evaluate the premiere of 2018 - Galeon 640 FLY - the most innovative yacht in this size!
During sea trials of the presented models, all guests enjoyed themselves in the captain`s role, then they conducted standard operation procedures of driving performance and asked the production director Grzegorz Tuszyński all questions they wanted.
In the afternoon saturated with salty sea air the journalists together with the dealers went to see one of two Galeon shipyard’s sites. Established in 1982 the factory historically has been situated in the region of Straszyn, 20 minutes’ drive from Gdansk. Since then the Head Office is located there as well as the production of yachts up to 50 feet. Galeon is proud to be in a brief list of the shipyards that have their own full cycle production. This fact allows them to keep the highest standards of quality and to control everything firsthand.
After a fascinating and informative tour around the manufactory buildings and work departments, journalists had time to have some rest and prepare for the Galeon dinner at the Sheraton Sopot Hotel. For the next couple of hours Galeon 650 SKY went to sea trials, so that no one was left without vivid impressions and exclusive content. After all, this yacht has something to surprise even the most demanding client! The Galeon 650 will be officially presented to a wide audience only in September 2018 in Cannes.
Although it was quite hard to tear the journalists away from this incredible yacht, our program did not end there. During the second visit to the factory, to be more specific, to its new site located on the Wisla River, it was possible to assess the scale of the growth of the Galeon shipyard from the small producer of small boats to the world-famous brand taking awards in Cannes and Dusseldorf. Thanks to its modern daring design and innovative approach to the yachts, Galeon becomes more and more popular, gaining countless admirers all over the world. It was Tony Castro - a genuine guru in yacht design, who has been working a lot on the latest Galeon yachts of the third generation.

Having dinner in the oldest restaurant of the city - Goldwasser, we took a ride on the Ferris wheel, from where Gdansk can be seen in all of its glory. With its rich cultural heritage and a special atmosphere, it is almost impossible not to fall in love with it at first sight.
We want Gdansk, Poland and Galeon to be remembered in this way by the guests of the shipyard for a long time.
